We're partnering with a growing construction company seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their team. This role is responsible for developing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing plans and specifications, and supporting the successful planning and execution of commercial construction projects. Candidates should have strong estimating experience, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of construction methods and costs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate bids and proposals.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, project managers, architects, and engineers throughout the estimating process.
- Analyze project costs and identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
- Track actual project costs against estimates and adjust forecasting as needed.
- Maintain vendor, supplier, and subcontractor relationships and pricing databases.
- Utilize estimating and job-costing software to prepare accurate project budgets.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry practices.
- Experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating and job-costing software.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
