Mechanical Engineer – Product Dev & Design (Mandarin Speaking)

About the Role: 

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in product development and design within the electronics industry, preferably in personal computers. This role requires a team player who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment and is comfortable working across multiple time zones. The ideal candidate will have expertise in thermal design, EMC, and RFI, along with hands-on experience using Creo or SolidWorks for mechanical modeling and design. Fluency in Mandarin is highly preferred, as the role involves frequent collaboration with overseas teams and suppliers. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for personal computers.
• Champion and drive cross-functional design reviews and product optimization.
• Utilize Creo (formerly Pro Engineer) to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings.
• Apply thermal, EMC, and RFI design principles to ensure optimal product performance.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, industrial designers, agency certification team, validation teams, mechanical design team, and customers/suppliers.
• Support factory builds and production ramp-up—factory experience is a plus.
• Collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones, ensuring seamless communication and project execution.
• Travel to Asia (~30%) to engage with back-end teams, customers, and drive quality improvements.
• Attend evening and morning meetings via Teams as necessary.
• Ensure designs meet reliability, manufacturability, and cost objectives.
• Provide clear and effective communication through reports, presentations, and technical documentation.

Qualifications & Skills: 

• 3-5 years of mechanical design experience in the electronics industry (preferably personal computers).
• BSME or equivalent
• Proficiency in Creo or SolidWorks for 3D modeling and mechanical design.
• Strong understanding of thermal, EMC, Safety, and RFI design considerations.
• Experience working in manufacturing or factory environments is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple time zones with international teams.
• Fluent in Mandarin (preferred) to facilitate collaboration with back-end teams and overseas partners.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% (primarily to Asia).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
