Our client, a sportswear brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to join their team on a contract basis in their Niles, Illinois office.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct fit sessions on live models/ dress forms and perform measurements
- Lead the technical design process from concept to production
- Create, update, and maintain tech packs including detailed sketches, measurements, construction notes, and material callouts.
- Suggest construction improvements for better fit, cost efficiency, and manufacturability
- Establish block patterns and grading rules
- Maintain fit comments/ construction notes after fittings
- Track sample development (proto, fit, PP samples) and ensure timelines are met
- Ensure garments meet brand standards for fit, quality, and performance
- Partner with design, merchandising, and production teams throughout the product lifecycle
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience working in technical design
- Proficiency in Centric PLM systems
- Ability to accurately measure garments on live models
- Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, and how they impact fit and performance
- Must have attention to detail & organization skills
