As we transition into our next chapter as a fully independent organization, we are looking for a dedicated HR Generalist to join our team in the Kansas City Metro. This is a foundational role within our organization, responsible for ensuring that our "People Operations" are as high-quality as the service we provide to our customers.
The Role
The HR Generalist is the engine of the Fountain Comfort Group HR department. This is a hands-on role that requires a high degree of organizational skill, a deep understanding of compliance, and a "customer service" mindset toward our employees. You will manage the day-to-day administrative and strategic HR functions that allow our local brands to focus on what they do best: serving homeowners.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding & Lifecycle Management:
- The "Red Carpet" Experience: Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for all new hires across our brands—coordinating background checks and system access.
- Data Integrity: Serve as the primary administrator for Paylocity, ensuring all employee records, job changes, and terminations are processed with 100% accuracy.
- Credentialing: Manage and track trade-specific licensing and certifications for our technicians.
Benefits & Compliance:
- Benefits Administration: Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding health insurance, dental, vision, and 401(k).
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure FCG remains compliant with all federal, state, and local labor laws. Maintain employee files to an "audit-ready" standard.
- Safety & Workers' Comp: Manage the documentation and filing for Workers’ Compensation claims and assist GMs with safety compliance reporting.
Employee Relations & Support:
- GM Support: Act as a resource for local General Managers, helping them navigate performance management documentation and company policy interpretation.
- Culture Advocacy: Assist in the development and rollout of company-wide initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications that reinforce the FCG mission.

Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive HR experience. Experience in a multi-unit or trade-based industry is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification: PHR or SHRM-CP is a major plus.
- Communication: Clear, professional, and empathetic communication skills.
