About Fountain Comfort Group
Fountain Comfort Group (FCG) is a premier regional network of home service companies. We are currently transitioning to a fully independent organization, marking a significant era of growth and local empowerment. We combine the legacy of local family brands with the professional stability of a high-growth regional network. We are looking for a high-level, numbers-driven leader to serve as the financial "right hand" to our local leadership.
The Role & Reporting Structure
The Branch Controller is a strategic leadership position designed for a financial professional who thrives at the intersection of Finance and Operations. You will not just manage the books; you will provide the financial clarity that allows our General Manager to scale the business. To ensure both local success and corporate alignment, this role features a dual-reporting structure:
- Solid Line Reporting (Corporate): You will report directly to the FCG Central Accounting Team for all financial standards, GAAP compliance, and corporate reporting.
- Dotted Line Reporting (Local): You will act as a Strategic Partner to the local General Manager, providing the operational data and administrative oversight needed to drive branch performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy (Direct to FCG Central Accounting):
- Full-Cycle Accounting Mastery: Lead all Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and daily bank reconciliations according to FCG corporate standards.
- Financial Integrity: Own the month-end close process, ensuring all data is accurate, submitted on time, and "audit-ready."
- Payroll & Compliance: Oversight of payroll processing via Paylocity, ensuring total compliance with all tax and I-9 requirements.
- P&L Analysis: Collaborate with Central Accounting to analyze branch P&L statements, identifying trends, leaks, and opportunities for profit improvement.
Operational Oversight & GM Partnership (Support to Local GM):
- Strategic Right Hand: Partner with the GM to review ServiceTitan data, ensuring job costing is accurate and that the branch is hitting its financial KPIs.
- Permitting & Compliance Management: Oversee the end-to-end permitting process with local municipalities—ensuring HVAC and Plumbing permits are pulled, tracked, and closed with 100% accuracy.
- Operational Logistics: Manage local facility vendor relationships and fleet administration (registrations/renewals) to keep our field technicians moving.
- Office Leadership: Foster a high-performance office culture that prioritizes organization, professional communication, and technical excellence.
What We’re Looking For
- The "Profit Mindset": You don't just record numbers; you understand what they mean for the business. You are excited about helping the GM grow the brand.
- Financial Grit: You have a "get it right the first time" mentality and a deep respect for GAAP standards.
- Operational Agility: You can pivot from a complex financial audit to a high-priority permitting issue without missing a beat.
- Tech Mastery: Proficiency in ServiceTitan, Paylocity, and Excel is highly preferred.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Financial Management, specifically within the HVAC, Construction, or MEP trades.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Leadership: Proven ability to influence local operations through financial data and clear communication.
Benefits & Compensation
- Competitive Salary: Highly competitive base salary acknowledging the leadership level of this role.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans.
- Retirement: 401(k) with a generous company match.
- Professional Growth: Opportunity to grow into regional leadership roles as FCG continues its independent expansion.
- Stability: Full-time role with a legacy company and a premier regional network.
