Financial Oversight | Multi-Site Service Operations

- Reports To: Corporate Controller
Position Summary
The Regional Controller is a key financial leader responsible for the fiscal integrity and operational reporting of three branch locations in Florida. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role bridges the gap between field operations and corporate finance. The primary focus is ensuring accurate daily record-keeping, standardizing financial processes across sites, and providing localized financial insights to drive regional profitability during this period of aggressive scaling.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regional Financial Oversight & Reporting
- Branch Oversight: Directly oversee the financial health of three Florida service branches (HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical).
- Consolidated Reporting: Prepare and review monthly branch-level financial statements, providing a consolidated regional view for the Corporate Controller.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process for the region, ensuring all accruals, deferrals, and intercompany transactions are accurate.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct monthly variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget) and present findings to Branch Managers and Corporate leadership.
2. Daily Transaction Accuracy & Controls
- Audit & Integrity: Prioritize and audit the integrity of daily transaction recording, including service tickets, material costs, and labor hours.
- Project Tracking: Ensure rigorous job costing and Work-in-Progress (WIP) tracking across all active projects.
- Internal Controls: Maintain localized internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee regional Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, optimizing local cash flow and collections.
3. Operational Integration & Growth Support
- Performance Partnering: Partner with Branch Managers to improve technician productivity and margin performance through data-driven insights.
- M&A Support: Support the Corporate Controller in the financial integration of new branch acquisitions within the Florida market.
- Payroll & Commissions: Oversee regional payroll accuracy, including trade-specific commission structures and bonus tiers.
- Compliance: Ensure regional compliance with Florida-specific sales tax and trade licensing financial requirements.
- Strategic Pricing: Partner with Branch Managers in determining optimal market pricing.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- Experience: 7 years of progressive accounting experience; 3 years in a multi-site or regional oversight role.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in Home Services (HVAC/Plumbing/Electric) or Construction is highly desirable.
- Technical Systems: Proficiency in ServiceTitan and ERP platforms like Sage Intacct or NetSuite.
- Mobility: Ability to travel between the three regional branch sites as needed.
