Lead Custodian - Elementary

Job Summary 

The Lead Custodian is responsible for keeping assigned buildings clean, safe, functional, and secure in accordance with prescribed codes and established district policies and standards. The Lead Custodian is resonsible for an assigned building and ensures it is maintained to operational excellence such that they present no interruptions, distractions, or obstacles to the education program. 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, experience in performing custodial and/or maintenance    functions.  
• Good mechanical aptitude, heating & ventilation experience
• strong work ethic, good initiative, interpersonal skills and strong independent judgment.
• Excellent written and oral communication. 
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.  
• Ability to use technology effectively. 

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties both interior and exterior of building by maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation, orderliness, and safety.  
• Notify supervisors concerning major and minor repairs.  
• Accept instructions from the head custodian/supervisor verbally or in writing.  
• Provide services as necessary to support curricular and extracurricular events and activities. 
• Assist visiting members of the public who are utilizing the facilities. 
• Work on call as needed at any time for emergency repairs, equipment monitoring, overtime, or specific custodial needs falling outside of normal working hours inclusive of weekends.
