Interventionist - Math
Job Summary
The math interventionist provides a variety of small group math instruction, push-in support, progress and assessment monitoring, and data management/meetings of students as part of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education, math, or related field.
- Successful classroom, or small group, teaching/ intervention experience preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers and administrations and evidence of strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities below as evidenced by coursework, educational experience, school-level involvement and/or system wide professional activities, and the interview process.
Responsibilities
- Maintains currency with the latest developments and research in the field through various means.
- Work collaboratively with building-based support services to implement a responsive Tiered Systems of Support program at the assigned school.
- Deliver math services through small group instruction or push-in services to students requiring support and/or remediation in math as directed by the Math Specialist, Instructional Support Team, and/or principal.
- Provide small group instruction that supports an equitable and inclusive learning environment that is responsive to all learners and their families.
- Support grade level teams in the gathering, analyzing, and interpreting of assessment data; administer screening tools as directed.
- Support the maintenance and analysis of data relative to individual students’ responses to various interventions.
- Maintain productive and consistent communication with the Building Principal, Assistant Principals, and the Math Specialist.
- Support the classroom teacher in planning for differentiated instruction to respond to students’ instructional needs (strengths and limitations), interests, and learning preferences.
- Attend ongoing Interventionist meetings.
- Manage student academic performance data (i.e. collection, review, and analysis).
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
