Job Description
The ESY Related Service Providers provide direct individual, small group and/or large group services to address student Individualized Education Plans.
Qualifications
- Education: A Master’s Degree or higher in Education, Special Education, Guidance, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License as Speech Language and Hearing Disorders (All Levels) Required or appropriate certification as an Occupational Therapist.
- Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Knowledge of accommodations and modifications to support the implementation of ELA and math curriculum content for students with disabilities.
- Ability to use technology effectively.
- Current knowledge of implementation of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for the age span.
Responsibilities
- Provide students with intensive instruction in individual, small groups, and in-class lessons to meet the goals and objectives as outlined in students’ Individualized Educational Plans.
- Assist ESY staff in developing and implementing curriculum accommodations/modifications and appropriate classroom strategies as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation.
- Create a developmentally appropriate, child-centered environment that establishes positive student behavioral expectations conducive to all learners' needs.
- Provide an equitable and inclusive learning environment that is responsive to all learners and their families.
- Partner with families to create a strong two-way communication.
- Maintain appropriate records and provide timely reports.
- Collaborate and communicate with all colleagues to positively contribute to the school culture.
- Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniques for students with communication disorders.
- Completes other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Services.
Terms of Employment
Temporary. The position is contingent on the enrollment of students in the program.
Program Dates
- The Hingham ESY Summer Program runs from June 29, 2026 to July 30, 2026, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 - 11:30.
- The Hingham Esy RISE Program Summer Program runs from June 29, 2026 to August 13, 2026, Monday through Thursdy from 8:30 - 1:30 p.m.
Compensation
Related service providers are compensated for their time per the Hingham Public Schools contractual rate with an additional paid hour of planning time for each day in attendance.
