Our client, a growing, multi-unit organization, is seeking a strategic and highly hands-on Senior Human Resources Manager across a multi-state workforce. This role serves as a key advisor to senior leadership and plays a critical role in scaling people practices, strengthening culture, and ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop HR and Training leaders and team members, setting clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards
- Own all HR operations across multiple states, including compliance, employee relations, investigations, corrective action, terminations, and risk mitigation
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally sound outcomes
- Oversee leaves of absence, ADA/FEHA accommodations, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work processes
- Maintain, update, and communicate HR policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook
- Coach managers at all levels on performance management, documentation, feedback, conflict resolution, and effective people leadership
- Partner with Operations to support labor strategy, workforce planning, and retention initiatives
- Oversee talent acquisition strategy and execution for corporate roles and field leadership positions
- Ensure hiring practices are equitable, compliant, and aligned with organizational values
- Lead benefits administration, broker relationships, open enrollment, and ongoing employee education
- Partner with payroll to ensure accurate, compliant multi-state wage and hour practices
- Lead annual compensation reviews, salary band development, and equity analyses in collaboration with Finance
- Oversee onboarding, training programs, LMS administration, and continuous learning initiatives
- Design and scale leadership development programs and succession pipelines for frontline leaders through senior field management
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, and Training to ensure operational standards, product knowledge, and service excellence
- Champion DEIB initiatives and embed inclusive practices across hiring, development, and performance processes
- Ensure data integrity within HRIS and LMS platforms and build dashboards to track turnover, engagement, compliance, and workforce trends
- Translate people data into insights and recommendations for senior leadership
- Contribute to organizational design, change management, and long-term people strategy as the organization grows
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Operational Leadership, or related
- 5 years of HR or People leadership experience in a multi-unit, multi-state environment
- Strong employee relations expertise with deep California labor law knowledge
- Proven experience leading HR and Training/L&D teams
- Proficient with HRIS and LMS platforms (Paylocity or similar)
- SHRM-CP/PHR (or higher) certification required
- Hospitality, retail, or food & beverage experience preferred

Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
