What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at FORTIS Resource Partners?
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company’s restaurants, which include leading a portion of the accounting team, producing monthly financial statements for multiple cost centers, and maintaining financial reports. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive accounting records and a set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overseeing the month-end close process and ensuring accurate and meaningful financial reporting is provided to executive management on a timely basis.
- Works with the team on other accounting activities, including but not limited to: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, managing day-to-day banking relationships, and other local vendor relationships.
- Participate in the development and coordination of a best-in-class financial accounting organization that will support the company's long-term growth strategy
- Preparing monthly internal financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and analyzing and communicating cash funding needs, with an emphasis on cash forecasting.
- Responsible for oversight of expenditures, including reviewing, tracking, and reporting detailed expenses on a monthly basis.
- Prepare internal analyses to support internal and external reporting requirements
- Perform ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed
- Provide schedules to the tax accounting firm for federal and state tax returns
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related
- 5 years of previous accounting experience
- Big 4 or comparable Public Accounting experience is a plus
- CPA is a plus
- Multi-location experience
- SEC experience is a plus
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP accounting
- Proven ability to think strategically and plan effectively
- Experience in driving successful change management
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to execute and produce complete, accurate, and timely deliverables
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Net-Suite Preferred

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
