We are seeking an experienced accounting leader for an established organization to oversee the company’s core financial operations and reporting functions. This individual will play a key role on the leadership team, while leading and developing the accounting organization and partnering across the business to drive financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.
This is an onsite role in Greenville, SC.
Essential Duties & Functions
- Oversee all core accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, accounts payable, cash management, and loan portfolio accounting
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including development of financial projections and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS, including areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, credit loss estimates, and tax provisions
- Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making and operational execution
- Drive process improvements through system enhancements, automation, and optimization of accounting workflows
- Manage and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Support audits, regulatory reporting, and internal controls to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Oversee tax-related matters across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
- Maintain adherence to company policies and uphold high standards of ethics and professionalism
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including leadership responsibility
- Prior experience in public accounting strongly preferred
- Experience within the financial services industry is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS, with the ability to apply technical guidance in a practical environment
- Experience with ERP systems and a track record of improving processes through technology and automation
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work onsite and collaborate closely with internal teams
