Operations Manager
We are partnering with a global manufacturing and distribution organization seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, improve organizational processes, and ensure operational efficiency across all departments.
This role provides both strategic leadership and hands-on direction to meet business goals related to safety, quality, culture, delivery, productivity, cost, and customer satisfaction. This is a high visibility role with the opportunity to lead cross functional initiatives and support long term planning.
This position is on site in Upstate South Carolina.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Lead and manage day to day operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to support organizational goals and improve overall performance.
- Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Facilitate problem solving and experimentation.
- Protect and strengthen company culture to enhance both employee and customer experience.
- Oversee production planning, workflow optimization, resource allocation, and process improvements.
- Implement Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with supply chain, quality, HR, finance, and other cross functional teams to ensure alignment and support for operational initiatives.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures to maintain operational profitability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor supervisors, team leaders, and staff to build a high performing workforce.
- Oversee training, development, and performance management processes.
- Support organizational change initiatives and strategic planning efforts.
- Monitor customer requirements and ensure timely delivery of quality products and services.
- Lead multi shift operations and manage large teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- 5 to 7 years of cross functional leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proven experience managing large teams, ideally 80 or more employees, within multi shift operations.
- Experience in mid to large sized manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of operational best practices, production management, and continuous improvement principles.
- Demonstrated success implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Experience working in at least one of the following areas is strongly preferred: quality, warehouse and logistics, or continuous improvement.
- Background in heavy industrial or metal-based manufacturing such as automotive, construction equipment, gears, or transmissions is strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
