Key Responsibilities
Budgeting & Financial Analysis
- Review and analyze program budget and expenditure reports
- Monitor budgets to identify variances, surpluses, or deficits and recommend solutions
- Prepare statistical analyses to support revisions, projections, and internal planning
- Assist with maintaining financial data in State financial systems
- Support data entry for the Annual Operating Budget
- Prepare and submit monthly reimbursement summary spreadsheets
- Ensure Federal funds are accurately coded to approved funding sources
- Reconcile deposits with Accounts Receivable and General Ledger reports
- Maintain compliant financial records from award through closeout
- Update required program spreadsheets in accordance with Federal and State regulations
- Prepare listings of prior-year open purchase orders for multiple Federal programs
- Coordinate with program teams to reconcile open items
- Track and report status updates on open purchase orders
- Assist with preparation of prior-year grant extension requests
- Produce budget queries, reports, and detailed expenditure analyses
- Track expenditure trends and prepare projection reports, including personal services projections
- Participate in special projects involving research, data compilation, and financial analysis
- Perform additional financial analyses as requested by leadership
- State of Georgia budget experience required
- Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft, specifically TeamWorks Financials
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other formulas. The client might require an Excel skills test as part of an onsite interview.
- Experience working with federally funded programs or compliance-driven financial environments
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Consistent professionalism, reliability, and respect for others
- Ability to work productively in a structured, high-expectation environment
- Willingness to collaborate and assist team members as needed
- Extensive pre-employment background check, including a Georgia criminal history check and a post-hire federal background investigation
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
