About the Role:

The Room Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas within the accommodation facility. This position ensures that all rooms are prepared to the highest standards, providing guests with a welcoming and comfortable environment. Attention to detail is essential, as the Room Attendant will be responsible for inspecting rooms for cleanliness and ensuring that all amenities are stocked and functioning. The role also involves adhering to safety and sanitation protocols to create a safe space for both guests and staff. Ultimately, the Room Attendant contributes significantly to guest satisfaction and the overall reputation of the establishment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in hospitality or related field.
  • Experience with cleaning equipment and chemicals.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas according to established standards.
  • Change bed linens, towels, and replenish guest supplies as needed.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  • Inspect rooms after cleaning to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Assist with laundry services and maintain cleanliness of housekeeping carts and storage areas.
  • Ensure public areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the day.
  • Follow established safety protocols while using cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management of cleaning supplies and report shortages.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to guest requests.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit.
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25 pounds.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong attention to detail, which is essential for ensuring that every room meets cleanliness standards. Time management skills are also important, as Room Attendants must efficiently complete their tasks within a set timeframe to prepare rooms for incoming guests. Communication skills are necessary for reporting issues and collaborating with other staff members. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with cleaning equipment, enhance the ability to perform tasks effectively and safely. Overall, these skills contribute to a positive guest experience and a well-maintained facility.
