About the Role:
The Vice President of Finance in the Accommodation and Food Services industry plays a critical leadership role in steering the financial strategy and operations of the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management, to ensure the company’s financial health and sustainability. The VP of Finance collaborates closely with executive leadership to align financial goals with business objectives, driving profitability and operational efficiency. They lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ultimately, this role ensures that financial insights and strategies support informed decision-making and long-term growth within a dynamic and competitive industry environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, preferably within the Accommodation and Food Services industry or a related sector.
- Proven expertise in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing finance teams and collaborating with executive leadership.
- Experience with Solomon, FRX, Profit Sword, Hotel Effectiveness, Profit Sage.
- Strong communication, leadership, strategic thinking, and technical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a related discipline.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience with financial systems and ERP software commonly used in the hospitality or food service industries.
- Track record of successfully leading financial transformations or implementing new financial technologies.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution within a multi-unit or franchise business model.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies that support the company’s growth and operational goals.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and reports to provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Manage cash flow, capital structure, job costings for construction, PIPs, and Premier Development and Construction accounts.
- Lead the finance department, including hiring, mentoring, and evaluating team members to build a high-performing and collaborative group.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls to mitigate risks and maintain integrity.
- Collaborate with other departments such as operations, sales, and marketing to align financial planning with business initiatives.
- Drive cost management initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Support strategic initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships by providing financial due diligence and analysis.
- Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and tax regulations.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and daily bank balances; oversee receivables, payables, tax filings, and investment activities to optimize financial performance and liquidity.
