Our client is a highly successful, globally recognized manufacturer. To support their continued market dominance and production demands, they are seeking a strategic and operationally focused Plant Manager for a key manufacturing facility on the East Coast.
The primary objective for this role is to drive operational excellence, maximize production output, and elevate overall plant efficiency. We are looking for a pragmatic, hands-on leader who is highly visible on the shop floor and possesses the ability to seamlessly connect daily operational execution with the company’s global strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency, refine long-term capacity planning, and maximize utilization rates to consistently achieve aggressive production targets.
- Directly manage, coach, and evaluate manufacturing personnel. Maintain an active, daily presence on the production floor to decisively and practically resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Effectively bridge the gap between ad-hoc daily manufacturing dynamics and the overarching strategic objectives of the global organization.
- Oversee the plant budget, rigorously monitor and control operational expenses, and proactively initiate corrective actions to protect margins.
- Guarantee a safe, clean, and highly organized working environment. Ensure strict compliance with all Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment standards, local legislation, and operational permits.
- Champion the ongoing integration and enforcement of Lean principles, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies across the production lines.
- Maintain robust internal and external communication lines with corporate management, the local team, key suppliers, and relevant authorities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred in an engineering field.
- Substantial management experience as a Plant Manager or Operations Director within a high-volume, heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional people management skills combined with a pragmatic, hands-on mentality. Highly organized and resilient under pressure with excellent multitasking capabilities.
- Extensive practical experience utilizing ERP systems (specifically SAP), Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
- Native or highly fluent English is required.
