Florida A&M University's Office of University Housing is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Student Affairs Associate vacancy.
Responsibilities
This staff member will serve as a point of contact for residents, campus partners, and other university stakeholders; Assist in resolving resident concerns and student-related issues as they arise; Provide professional staff supervision in the absence of the Facility Coordinator; Monitor residential floors, inspects rooms for health and safety concerns, and observes entry/exit points for unauthorized access; Security and Emergency Response Maintains oversight of the building’s key control system, including issuing, tracking, and requesting keys; Conduct security rounds every two hours and ensures the facility is secured at scheduled times or as needed; Perform regular checks of stairwells, windows, bathrooms, laundry areas, and emergency exits; and, monitor building alarm systems and responds appropriately to any security breaches.
Responds to emergency situations such as fire alarms, evacuations, facility damage, medical incidents, or critical student emergencies; Accurately log incidents and completes required documentation for all emergencies; Provide supervision and direction to student staff, housekeeping personnel, and security staff; Conduct room inspections to verify contract compliance, proper use of university equipment, and adherence to health and safety standards; Manage incoming calls and greets visitors at the front desk; Verify identification of visitors and logs guest activity as required; Provide basic information about the residence hall to current and prospective students; and, maintain records of express mail deliveries and ensures packages are distributed to the intended recipients.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalency and three years of experience; or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years of related experience.

Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations;

Pay Plan
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.
