The NCIC Terminal Agency Coordinator serves as the liaison for the Sheriff’s Office and SLED for NCIC affiliated processes and trains employees.
Essential Functions
- Maintains, processes and performs data entry of various National Criminal Information Center (NCIC).
- Performs monthly validation of information to confirm that the NCIC SLED file is still active.
- Coordinates with Florence County Dispatch on entries and removals for NCIC files.
- Manages retention of NCIC files.
- Oversees NCIC files audits for SLED.
- Responsible for NCIC certification and recertification of all terminal operators.
- Enforces NCIC policies and procedures to grant and remove access for separating employees.
- Makes sure Sheriff’s Office is in compliance with NCIC policies and procedures.
- Maintains active and inactive NCIC files as well as expungements for Sheriff’s Office.
- Manages NCIC security and provides awareness training for noncertified employees and vendors.
- Point of contact for tow companies to process out of state DMV registrations.
- Trains new employees in the records department.
- Serves as backup to Records Manager.
- Attends meetings, trainings, and conferences.
- Performs all other related duties as required.
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three to five years experience in an administrative or clerical position with some experience at the supervisory level, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Must have no criminal history and a valid SC driver’s license.
- Must maintain 40 hour NCIC certification.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, carry, move and lift 20 lb. objects regularly.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must have the ability to travel up to 5%.
