Essential Functions
- Receives, reviews, prepares and/or submits a variety of documents.
- Prepares legal files and subpoenas for Solicitors.
- Obtains criminal histories, reports, statements, photos, and videos from law enforcement agencies.
- Enters all information, documents, photos, and videos into case management system.
- Schedules evaluations with South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) and Department of Mental Health (DMH) for defendants.
- Prepares reports from evaluations.
- Files and tracks restraining orders.
- Organizes supporting documents, exhibits, and evidence.
- Performs research according to office policy and precedent.
- Interacts, communicates and provides assistance to various individuals and groups including immediate supervisor, co-workers, Assistant Solicitors, Victims, Public Defenders, other County employees, Law Enforcement Agencies, and defense attorneys.
- May assist new employees in operation of Case Management system, indictment preparation, Rule 5 Response as well as everyday operations.
- Performs all other related duties as required.
- Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies required.
- Must have general knowledge of state, county, and/or local governments with specific knowledge of General Sessions, Common Pleas Court and Family Court.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, carry, move and lift 10 lb. objects regularly.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must have the ability to travel up to 5%.
