What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Flexcraft?
We’re looking for a Controller to partner closely with our VP of Finance in strengthening and leading the accounting function of a dynamic, fast-growing manufacturer.
This is a high-impact role focused on building a scalable, audit-ready accounting function while helping modernize how finance operates. Flexcraft is in a period of significant growth, creating an opportunity for the right person to shape processes, leverage technology, and make a lasting impact across the business.
You’ll start with ownership of core accounting operations and expand your influence as you build systems, improve processes, and support better decision-making.

What You’ll Do
Own the numbers
- Lead month-end close and general ledger with accuracy and consistency
- Ensure financials are clean, reliable, and audit-ready
Strengthen reporting and processes
- Support monthly financial reporting and leadership insights
- Build structure where processes don’t yet exist
Build a scalable accounting function
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation
- Reduce manual work and improve efficiency through systems and tools
Lead and develop the team
- Manage and support a small accounting team
- Review work, coach for growth, and elevate performance
Grow into cost accounting
- Support standard costing (materials, labor, overhead)
- Assist with variance analysis and cost insights
- Partner with operations to understand cost drivers
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of accounting experience in an inventory or cost-driven environment
- Strong ownership of month-end close and GL processes
- Experience supervising or mentoring others
- Strong Excel skills and ERP experience
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- CPA or Master’s preferred
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Exposure to cost accounting is a plus
- Interest in process improvement, automation, or systems is a plus

Salary : $130,000 - $145,000
