What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Controls Engineer position at Fivos Group?
We are hiring an Industrial Controls Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing automation to lead the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of our automated systems.
What You'll Do
- Own the health, performance, and reliability of automated manufacturing equipment
- Lead and mentor controls, technicians, providing technical direction and troubleshooting support
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, motion/vision systems, VFDs, and industrial networks
- Support and lead capital projects, including new equipment installation, commissioning, and system upgrades
- Develop and improve controls standards, documentation, best practices
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations to drive uptime, safety, and efficiency
- Support production as needed
Controls & Technology Environment
- PLCs: Siemens (Primary, Allen-Bradley
- Systems: HMI & SCADA platforms
- Automation: Robotics, machine vision, motion control
- Drives & Networks: VFDs, industrial Ethernet and related protocols
Work Schedule & Location
- Day Shift, Monday -Friday
- Minimal travel
- Onsite role based in Shelby, North Carolina
Compensation & Benefits
- $160,000 - $200,000/year (Salary Exempt)

Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in industrial controls within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and troubleshoot complex automated systems
- Strong experience with Siemens PLC platforms, Allen-Bradley experience is also a plus
- Hands-on knowledge of robotics, motion controls, VFDs, and industrial networking
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
