About the role

We’re seeking a Project Engineer who can lead and execute capital projects across a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong mechanical or electrical expertise — and meaningful secondary experience in the other discipline — who can manage projects from concept through commissioning. You’ll work closely with plant leadership, maintenance, reliability, production, and external vendors to deliver projects that improve throughput, safety, automation, and overall facility performance.

Compensation and benefits

  • Salary up to $130,000, based on experience
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Professional development and growth opportunities

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple CAPEX projects simultaneously, from scope development through installation and startup.
  • Develop project charters, budgets, timelines, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (production, maintenance, engineering, safety) and external contractors/vendors.
  • Oversee equipment specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
  • Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, automation, and process optimization.
  • Provide engineering support for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and long-term corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate project reporting, cost tracking, and milestone updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
  • Strong primary discipline (ME or EE) with secondary working knowledge of the other.
  • 3–7 years of experience managing CAPEX or facility/production equipment projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety standards and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and documentation skills.

What success looks like

  • Projects delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with plant goals.
  • Improved equipment reliability, throughput, and safety performance.
  • Strong collaboration with production, maintenance, and leadership teams.
  • Clear, organized project documentation and communication.
  • Ability to anticipate issues, mitigate risks, and drive solutions proactively.
