Part Time Teller – Bilingual
Job Description: The teller will provide excellent customer service while efficiently and accurately processing transactions, handling currency, accepting payments, verifying funds and explaining bank products while working in a team environment.
Essential Functions:
- Receive
scash and checks for deposit, verifies amounts, and looks for check endorsements. Examines cash carefully to guard against acceptance of counterfeit bills. - Cash checks for customers after verifying identification and checking account balances in accordance with bank policy
- Enters transactions into computer and issues customer receipts
- Balance cash against computer records at beginning and ending of shift
- Issue cashier’s checks, personal money orders, and gift cards
- Redeem savings bonds for customers only
- Explains bank services and charges to customers
- Observes suspicious behavior and report any such activity
- Assists customers in with general customer service
- Balance coin machine, vault balancing including cash sales and money ordering
- Process deposits and payment transactions through back counter
- Greet and refer customers to appropriate bank personnel to meet their financial needs.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Knowledge & Experience:
- Must be bilingual - Spanish and English Speaking
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Prior banking experience is preferred.
- Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Communication Skills – The ability to communicate effectively
- Mathematics – using mathematics to solve problems
- Problem Solving Skills – The ability to find resolution to problems in an efficient, practical manner
- Time Management – managing one’s own time and the time of others within the group
- Administrative skills – basic computer skills including 10 key experience
Education/Training: High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate). Must have cash handling and customer service experience. Banking experience preferred.
