Senior Project Manager – Digital Banking Transformation (Q2)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the business readiness and execution of a large-scale digital banking transformation initiative. This role will oversee the migration of a business online banking platform to a new digital banking solution, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring a seamless transition for internal stakeholders and customers.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on project manager with extensive experience leading complex technology initiatives in the banking or financial services industry. This individual will drive project execution while ensuring operational readiness across multiple business units.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a business online banking migration project.
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and risk registers.
- Coordinate with internal business leaders, technology teams, and third-party vendors to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage project governance, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- Drive business readiness activities across Commercial Banking, Retail Banking, Treasury Management, Operations, Marketing, and Customer Support teams.
- Create operational documentation including FAQs, workflows, decision trees, escalation procedures, and department-specific playbooks.
- Develop customer and internal communication strategies to support the migration.
- Coordinate training efforts to prepare customer-facing teams for platform launch.
- Facilitate vendor meetings, project status meetings, and cross-functional working sessions.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
- Plan and coordinate customer migration waves while minimizing operational disruption.
- Present project updates and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of project management experience leading large-scale technology or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience delivering complex projects involving multiple business units, vendors, and technology integrations.
- Banking or financial services industry experience is required.
- Experience managing digital banking, online banking, or payment platform implementations.
- Proven ability to build and manage detailed project plans using Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
- Strong vendor management and stakeholder management experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across executive leadership, technology teams, and business stakeholders.
- Self-directed, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience implementing or migrating to the Q2 digital banking platform.
- Experience leading business online banking implementations.
- Experience with treasury management products, commercial banking, and payment solutions.
- Experience in highly regulated environments.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
Position Details
- Contract opportunity with an initial duration of 6 months.
- Compensation target: $80–$90/hour W2.
- Hybrid schedule requiring onsite presence in Waltham, MA three days per week.
- Interview process will include project leadership and cross-functional business stakeholders.
What Success Looks Like
First 4–6 Weeks
- Expand and refine the existing project plan, identifying dependencies, deliverables, risks, and milestones.
- Establish strong working relationships with business and technology stakeholders.
- Coordinate vendor communications and optimize project meeting cadence.
- Implement a clear governance and project delivery framework.
- Drive alignment across all teams supporting the migration initiative.
Ongoing Responsibilities
- Oversee project execution through customer migration phases.
- Lead business readiness planning, operational preparation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate migration waves for small business and commercial banking customers.
- Ensure all internal teams are fully prepared with training, documentation, and communication materials ahead of deployment.
- Monitor project progress, resolve issues proactively, and provide regular executive-level status updates.
