Job Description: Inventory Accounting & Bookkeeping Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Accounting & Bookkeeping Specialist with strong QuickBooks expertise to manage day-to-day inventory accounting, accounts payable processes, and general bookkeeping functions. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience maintaining accurate inventory records, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Accounting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in QuickBooks.
- Reconcile inventory quantities, costs, and variances across purchase orders, receipts, and sales.
- Perform monthly and quarterly inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Monitor inventory adjustments, shrinkage, and costing accuracy.
- Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and warehousing to resolve discrepancies.
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process vendor invoices, verify pricing, match invoices to purchase orders and receipts.
- Manage AP aging schedule and ensure timely payments.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve billing issues or discrepancies.
- Set up and maintain vendor profiles and payment terms in QuickBooks.
Bookkeeping & General Accounting
- Record daily financial transactions and ensure accurate ledger maintenance.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
- Maintain organized financial records and support audits as needed.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc accounting tasks.
