Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Patient Registration Clerk to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients entering our clinics, ensuring a smooth and welcoming registration process. Your expertise in medical administrative support, EMR systems, and patient service will help facilitate efficient clinic operations while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and healthcare regulations.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and verify their identity using electronic health records (EHR) system such as eClinical works.
- Collect and review patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and demographic data
- Enter patient data accurately into various EMR/EHR systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Schedule appointments using medical scheduling software and coordinate with clinical staff for timely care delivery
- Assist patients with intake procedures, including documentation review and explanation of clinic processes
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette to answer inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain organized medical records through filing, scanning, and electronic health records management
- Verify patient insurance(s) with portals such as the State website and Health X
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office or clinical environment is highly preferred
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks
- Strong knowledge of health insurance procedures including Medicare, Medicaid, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and billing processes
- Bilingual skills in English and another language, Spanish a plus, are a plus to better serve diverse patient populations
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy for data entry tasks
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional patient service in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Experience with medical terminology, documentation review, and front desk operations enhances your effectiveness in this role

Pay: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour
