The Inventory Control Manager is primarily responsible for supporting effective operations by performing compliance audits through verifying inventory management software use and inventory reports, Point-of-Sales data, Sales Reports, patient information, batch tracking, manifests, harvest information, Derivative Product expiration dates, and live plant tracking data. Additionally, The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for creating Audit Referral Reports to initiate next steps, following the completion of initial audits. The Inventory Control Manager reports to the Director of Security.

  • Maintains a friendly, courteous, and compassionate demeanor at all times
  • Adheres to company mission statement and core values and maintains high ethical standards and professionalism in all business interactions
  • Coordinates with Security Manager, staff and stakeholders in small group settings to execute company mission statement and to establish, update and implement auditing procedures
  • Understands the complexity of compliance requirements governing our businesses, including the following types of regulatory agencies: Fire Department, City Zoning and Planning, Department of Health and more.
  • Responsible for reading and understanding regulatory requirements and legal text to relay information to stakeholders
  • Responsible for legal compliance with all regulatory requirements, by researching, auditing and verifying a variety of data
  • Performs research and coordinates with retail managers to gather information and verify reported data to determine compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and company policy
  • Adapt to a variety of working environments including offices, with ability to gather information from a range of employees
  • Responsible for accessing and updating documentation using a variety of software applications and operating systems
  • Responsible for reading and understanding all Standard Operating Procedures and documentation accessed during audits and the verification process
  • Assist with completion and filing of work orders with the software manufacturer of inventory control OR inventory tracking software
  • Responsible for performing daily audits of the following systems: inventory control software inventory and use, Point-of-Sales data, inventory control software Sales Reporting, patient information, coupon usage, batch tracking, manifests, harvest information, edibles expiration dates, and live plant (clones) tracking
  • Completes Audit Referral Reports following daily audits to initiate next steps for Investigators, Auditors, and Management staff
  • Assists with employee training programs of inventory control software and Point-of-Sales systems
  • Coordinates with management staff of retail stores and cultivation facilities to troubleshoot inventory control software and Point-of-Sales system issues
  • All other job duties as assigned

Required Competencies, Education And Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Law enforcement, military service, or security experience preferred
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in any field preferred
  • Preference given to candidates with a Criminal Justice degree
  • Training
  • Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Florida Department of Health
  • Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and procedures set forth by Sugar Maple Medical

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent computer, mathematical, language, problem-solving and reasoning skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with current versions
  • Knowledge of medical cannabis laws, Department of health and Human Services regulations, and HIPAA requirements; Previous medical marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in licensed facilities
  • High-level attention to detail, administrative skills, and highly organized
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision

Work Requirements

  • Must be able to work in an office environment with moderate to loud noise level
  • Must be able to work off-site in retail, manufacturing, or production facilities with moderate to loud noise level and changing working conditions; May require use of safety equipment or personal protective equipment (PPE), as needed
  • Must have and be able to maintain valid driver’s license

Travel Requirements

  • Regularly requires local travel, occasionally on short notice, as needed

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to individually lift up to 25 lbs
  • Must be able to handle labor-centric work
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time
