ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own assigned projects from turnover/conception through payment in full, including planning, execution, billing, collection, and closeout.
• Manage projects for successful and profitable completion; the current general PM description contemplates projects up to approximately $5 million.
• Participate in turnover meetings and translate estimates into executable project plans, budgets, manpower plans, and schedules.
• Establish and maintain project schedules within estimated budgets; monitor manpower, productivity, cost, quantities, and job forecasts throughout the project.
• Ensure the project team fully understands the contracted scope, plans, specifications, and quality expectations.
• Identify scope deviations promptly and manage notices, documentation, pricing, and change orders to protect cost recovery.
• Oversee procurement and coordination of materials, equipment, tools, subcontractors, and other project resources.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and comply with contractual notice and reporting requirements; ensure required documentation is completed timely.
• Generate and maintain timely billings, manage retainage and collections, and support the most advantageous project cash flow.
• Lead communication with customers, field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments including Finance/AP, Purchasing, Equipment, HR, Safety, and Estimating.
• Set clear goals for Superintendents, provide coaching and performance feedback, and help field teams improve safety, quality, productivity, and execution.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and maintain relationships that exceed customer expectations.
• Develop and maintain industry relationships; identify follow-on work, additional sales, and new project opportunities in the Charleston and Columbia markets.
• Manage project closeout, including punch list completion, claims or issue resolution, retainage collection, final documentation, and internal project review.
• Conduct post-project reviews and provide actionable feedback to field leadership and estimating to improve future performance.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
• 5 years of successful electrical project management experience preferred.
• Technical degree, electrical trade background, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical estimating and the ability to understand and manage project estimates and budgets.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, forecasting, change management, procurement, billing, and closeout.
• Strong computer skills; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong customer-service and interpersonal capabilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, organization, accountability, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
