What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Financial Officer position at Finatal?
PE‑Backed CFO | Buy‑and‑Build Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Platform
Finatal is partnering with a private equity sponsor to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for a newly formed aerospace manufacturing platform. The business serves as a critical supplier to a leading aerospace OEM and is looking to grow acquisitively over next 4 years and exit $50m to $75m EBITDA.
Backed by a highly reputable sponsor, the platform is at the beginning of an ambitious buy‑and‑build strategy focused on scaling operations, diversifying revenue, and building a consolidated manufacturing organization.
Following the pending acquisition of the platform’s founding business, the sponsor plans to pursue a highly acquisitive growth strategy, combining stand‑alone acquisitions and strategic tuck‑ins to build a scaled aerospace and defense manufacturing leader. This is an opportunity for a private‑equity‑experienced CFO to step into a foundational role, partner closely with the sponsor and operating leadership, and build the financial, systems, and operational infrastructure required to support rapid growth, integration, and transaction readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, scale, and professionalize the finance function
- Lead financial planning, reporting, controls, and cash management, bringing rigor to an environment with limited existing systems and processes
- Stand up and optimize core financial infrastructure, including ERP implementation, digital tools, and scalable back‑office processes
- Own the financial execution of M&A, including diligence support, integration planning, and post‑acquisition consolidation
- Partner closely with the operating leadership team and private equity sponsor on value creation initiatives, capital allocation, and growth strategy
- Establish repeatable reporting, controls, and operating rhythms to support rapid integration and exit readiness
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in a private equity‑backed, buy‑and‑build environment
- Strong background in manufacturing; aerospace and defense experience preferred but not required
- Demonstrated track record of building finance functions and financial systems from the ground up in lean, high‑growth organizations
- Hands‑on experience supporting M&A integration and operating in highly acquisitive platforms
- Comfortable working on site in Savannah, GA, and operating as a true business partner in a hands‑on leadership role
- Experience working closely with private equity sponsors through periods of rapid growth and transformation
