Our client, a growing organization serving industrial and manufacturing customers, is seeking a Sales Support Specialist to join their commercial team. This role is designed as a developmental sales position for an early-career professional who wants to build a long-term career in B2B sales. The individual will support senior sales leadership while gaining hands-on experience in prospecting, presentations, product demonstrations, and customer engagement, with a clear pathway into a full Account Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior sales staff with day-to-day administrative and customer activities
- Conduct outbound prospecting and assist with new business development initiatives
- Travel with senior sales leadership to client meetings, site visits, and industry events
- Learn to deliver product presentations and participate in customer demonstrations
- Develop confidence speaking in front of groups and representing the organization in customer settings
- Assist with inventory management and internal coordination to support customer needs
- Maintain CRM data, prepare sales materials, and manage follow-up communications
- Build foundational knowledge of manufacturing and distribution customer environments
- Gradually take on greater ownership of accounts as sales competencies grow
Qualifications
- 2 years of Account Management or Account Executive experience in B2B blue-collar industries (manufacturing, industrial, or distribution preferred)
- Strong interest in developing into a full sales/account management role
- Comfortable with travel (approximately 50% nationwide)
- Ability to work both in the office (Charlotte area) and in the field with customers
- Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills
- Self-starter mindset with willingness to learn and take feedback
- Technical curiosity and ability to understand inventory or operational workflows
Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule with a mix of office and field work
