Position Overview
The Assistant Controller will serve in a hands-on accounting leadership capacity, operating at an Accounting Manager level while supporting senior finance leadership. This role blends technical accounting, treasury management, audit exposure, and operational accounting responsibilities.
The position offers long-term growth potential, including a path to Controller-level responsibilities.
Reporting Structure
- Reports to Controller
- Indirect exposure to executive leadership
- Manages 2 accounting team members
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee treasury management activities, including cash flow and banking operations
- Support audit processes and ensure compliance with financial controls
- Manage accounts receivable and operational accounting functions
- Oversee job costing and financial accuracy across projects
- Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Drive process improvements across accounting workflows
- Partner with leadership on financial operations and reporting initiatives
Qualifications
- Active CPA (required)
- 3–5 years of accounting experience
- Public accounting background preferred
- Audit experience required
- Exposure to treasury management and financial operations
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with construction-focused ERP systems preferred
- Industry experience in construction preferred but not required
