Role Summary
The District Literacy Coach (DLC) serves as a critical bridge between district initiatives and classroom reality. Working closely with the Humanities Content Manager, you will support teachers through a cycle of coaching, modeling, and collaborative planning. Your goal is to build teacher capacity, ensuring the integrity of our curriculum while using data to adapt instruction for our diverse learners. This is a role for a "teacher of teachers" who understands how to facilitate professional growth through empathy and evidence.

- Advanced Expertise: You hold a Master’s Degree in Education with at least 3 years of high-impact classroom experience.
- Certified Specialist: You possess valid Missouri Certification with an endorsement in K-12 Reading, Elementary, or 5-12 ELA.
- Adult Learning Advocate: You have a proven track record of working with adult learners, including experience in coaching, designing, and facilitating professional development.

- Build Instructional Capacity: Ensure the integrity of the literacy curriculum by helping teachers understand and deliver high-quality instructional materials with confidence.
- Student-Centered Coaching: Utilize evidence-based coaching practices to improve student literacy through real-time modeling, co-teaching, and collaborative planning.
- Data-Driven Leadership: In collaboration with the Content Manager, evaluate and share literacy data to help teachers modify curriculum and assessments to meet specific student needs.
- MTSS Champion: Apply Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) practices to ensure teachers and specialists are meeting the needs of all students through adaptive teaching and interventions.
- Curriculum Innovation: Support the design of units and lessons, sharing evidence-based methodologies that maximize student learning environments.
- Professional Learning: Facilitate curriculum-based professional learning opportunities across the district to share best practices and district mandates.
