Project: FFSD "Collegiate Bridge" Summer Initiative

Quantity: 3 Positions Available

Location: FFSD Site & STLCC Campus Visit

Compensation: $25.00 per hour (~30 Total Hours)

The Opportunity: The Bridge to Brilliance

In Ferguson-Florissant, we believe that college readiness is more than just a test score—it’s a mindset. We are looking for three equity-minded, high-impact Seminar Instructors to lead our summer Early College/Dual Enrollment intensive. You aren't just teaching a class; you are the Architect of Collegiate Mastery, equipping our scholars with the habits, inquiry skills, and professional confidence they need to dominate at the university level.

As part of the FFSD "New Chapter," you will serve as the primary navigator for students entering our partnership with St. Louis Community College (STLCC), ensuring that every scholar—regardless of background—has a clear, empowered path to dual credit success.

Role Summary

As a Seminar Instructor, you will design and facilitate an immersive experience that moves students toward post-secondary flourishing. You will harness Individual Career Academic Plans (ICAPs) to help students visualize their futures, lead rigorous workshops in WICOR skills (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading), and manage the enrollment pipeline for the upcoming school year at STLCC. You will collaborate with a team of fellow instructors to ensure our scholars are not just "eligible" for college, but "prepared" for its rigor.

Why You’ll Succeed (Qualifications)

  • Internal Expert: You are a current FFSD staff member with at least 3 years of successful experience in a high school environment.
  • Certified Specialist: You must possess a valid Math or ELA Certification from MO DESE.
  • The "Collegiate" Profile: A Master’s Degree is preferred, and you should meet the criteria to be approved as a dual credit instructor with St. Louis Community College.
  • Equity Champion: You are committed to promoting dual enrollment access for all students, breaking down the barriers that prevent underrepresented scholars from earning college credit.
  • Relational Leader: You can turn a short summer seminar into a high-stakes, engaging launchpad for rising college students.

Your Impact (Key Duties)

  • ICAP Architecture: Use students' Individual Career Academic Plans to create personalized, future-minded roadmaps for success.
  • Dual Enrollment Navigation: Act as the expert guide for our STLCC partnership, exposing students to pathway options and facilitating the official enrollment process.
  • Mastery Instruction: Deliver hands-on, engaging lessons that prompt deep reflection and cultivate mastery in collegiate-level writing, inquiry, and organization.
  • Immersive Exposure: Lead an on-campus visit to STLCC, introducing students to the physical learning resources and collegiate environment that will soon be their own.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with your fellow instructors to plan and facilitate a unified, high-quality program that leaves no scholar behind.

The Seminar Schedule

  • Dates: Monday through Friday June 1 – June 11, 2026
  • Hours: Approximately 8:45 AM – 11:50 AM.
  • Commitment: 28 hours of instruction/facilitation 2 hours of paid preparation.

Compensation & Leadership

  • Rate: $25.00 per hour
  • Leadership Support: You will work in direct coordination with the Manager of CTE, CCR, and Virtual Learning to ensure a seamless transition for our students.
