We’re on the lookout for a passionate and creative Summer Support Vista (Story Capture) to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Summer Associates will assist marketing and communications staff, agency relations staff, and partner agencies in collecting stories, testimonials, and feedback to amplify the voices of neighbors experiencing hunger and of our volunteers who make the work possible.
Through a previous 12-month VISTA, Feeding the Gulf Coast now has a robust storytelling system, story bank, and training program to help our partner agencies independently collect and submit stories. These Summer Associates will be instrumental in continuing to strengthen this program by providing technical support to agencies learning the process and by building a surplus of testimonials through direct community engagement.
The Summer Associates will assist in guiding partner agencies through the process of story collection and submissions by phone or in person. They will also attend distribution and other events to gather stories and quotes by interviewing program participants and volunteers, and will ensure they obtain the proper media release forms when appropriate. They will then organize these stories within our story bank for program staff to use for feedback and development, and for marketing staff to help share the impact of our mission.
Qualifications
- Basic experience or strong interest in photography and videography.
- Knowledge of photo editing, photo manipulation, and color management techniques.
- Understanding of video production workflows including filming, editing, and post-production processes.
- Strong eye for detail with an understanding of color theory and art direction principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple projects efficiently.
