What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Family Office?
- Maintain the general ledger and perform daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliations across multiple entities (trusts, partnerships, investment vehicles, and personal accounts).
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Support preparation of financial statements, cash flow reports, and investment performance tracking.
- Assist with tax-related data collection and coordination with external tax advisors.
- Track and reconcile investment activity, capital calls, distributions, and management fees.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor management and expense allocations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and liquidity planning.
- Support compliance, audit, and regulatory reporting as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to internal controls.
- Handle confidential information with the highest degree of integrity and discretion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1–5 years of accounting experience; experience in family office, public accounting, private equity, or investment management a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP; experience with investment or partnership accounting preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar accounting systems a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification a plus.
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
