PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY:


The Naturopathic Residents' primary job function is to deliver high quality medical care for patients of Family Health Centers. As a Resident Physician they are also responsible for furthering their professional development through the Naturopathic Primary Care Residency programs and upholding the training requirements thereof. As such their job performance is evaluated through direct observation, survey and peer review of clinical care as well as educational progress.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (as related to the Mission Statement):


Access & Quality
  • Provide community-based palliative care services, working independently and interdependently with other FHC providers.
  • Provide consultation to internal and external community providers and partners either in person, by telephone or by video conference.
  • Consult with clinic physicians, specialists, or other health care professionals as appropriate.
  • Assess patient needs for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care and make appropriate referrals for service.
  • Assist with meeting clinic patient care team productivity and quality care standards.
  • Participate in development and utilization of FHC practice guidelines and procedures.
  • Participate in audits, and meet standards of FHC Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs.
  • Responsible for accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records.
  • Perform minor outpatient procedures as necessary for palliative care patients in accordance with FHC credentialing policy.
  • Maintenance of credentials essential for practice, to include licensure, certification and CPE.
  • Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit. Verify and document that the patient understands diagnosis, treatment and follow up recommendations.
  • Dispense medications from on site dispensary in accordance with FHC and State of Washington Pharmacy Board policies.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service meetings, and participates in agency committees or task force activities.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:


  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Naturopathic University and completed at least 1 year of an accredited, naturopathic primary care first year residency program.
  • Licensure: A valid license to practice as a Naturopathic Physician with Evidence of Prescriptive Authority in the State of Washington.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of an accredited, naturopathic primary care residency program.
  • Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
  • Skilled in interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability and willingness to work with diverse individuals.
  • An awareness and appreciation for both the health and socioeconomic needs of a low-income, underserved population.
  • Ability to work effectively in a community health setting utilizing physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and support staff.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish highly desired
  • Computer Literate…knowledge of office practices

Salary : $81,000 - $82,000
