What are the responsibilities and job description for the DENTAL ASSISTANT position at FAMILY HEALTH CENTERS, INC?
- Manage daily schedule for Dentist and Dental Hygienist, ensuring patients are scheduled appropriately per FHC guidelines.
- Monitor waiting area to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.
- Prepare patients for dental procedures.
- Open patient charts using electronic health records.
- Assist dentist in the treatment of patients, anticipating dentist’s needs and ensuring instruments and materials are accessible.
- Conduct patient oral hygiene education and give oral instructions/demonstrations.
- Clean and sterilize room after each use. Sterilize equipment per FHC policies and procedures.
- Take x-rays as assigned using proper safety precautions.
- Maintain adequate inventory of supplies in exam and treatment rooms. Report any equipment problems or concerns to the authorized person.
- Comply with all applicable infection control and safety procedures.
- Exhibit compliance with FHC’s corporate compliance policy.
- Perform job activities in ways that are respectful, courteous and responsive while interacting with patients, visitors and co-workers.
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as apparent or as delegated to you.
