The Opportunity

We're seeking an Interior Designer to shape the interiors of our projects from first concept through final installation. This role sits at the heart of our design process and is equal parts creative vision and technical follow-through. It is made for someone with the invention to imagine how a space should look and feel, the tenacity to carry every selection and detail through to completion, and the discernment to know what belongs and what doesn't.

This person works across every phase of design, collaborating closely with our interior design team, architecture team, design project managers and in-house construction team, and plays a hands-on role in how our clients experience their spaces.

The ideal candidate brings a designer's invention, a builder's tenacity, and a curator's discernment.

Key Responsibilities

Interior Design & Documentation

• Develop interior design concepts across all phases from space planning and layouts through finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and lighting.

• Bring original, inventive thinking to every project, exploring ideas boldly before refining them into a cohesive, resolved design.

• Translate design concepts into clear presentations, material palettes, and renderings that help clients see and feel the vision.

• Produce interior drawings, elevations, millwork details, and specifications that carry design intent all the way to installation.

• Ensure quality, consistency, and code compliance across all interior documentation.

Selections, Procurement & Coordination

• Curate and specify finishes, materials, fixtures, furniture, and décor, balancing aesthetics, performance, lead times, and budget.

• Coordinate closely with clients, the architecture team, and the construction team to align design vision, schedules, and budgets.

• Manage relationships with vendors, showrooms, fabricators, and trades by tracking samples, orders, and lead times, and following up until every item is delivered and installed.

• Partner with the design project managers and construction team to resolve field conditions and keep installations true to design intent.

Project Ownership & Studio Contribution

• Own assigned projects end to end, managing your own schedule, priorities, and deliverables with minimal oversight.

• Exercise sound judgment when editing design options and weighing client wishes, budget, and function, knowing what to keep, what to cut, and when to push an idea further.

• Support the design studio, sharing knowledge and helping uphold design and technical standards.

• Contribute to the studio's resource library, standards, and best practices.

• Coordination with the Design Project Manager leads to a well-executed project that is on time and in budget.

• Samples, orders, and deliveries are tracked and closed out on schedule, without needing to be chased.

• The construction team builds and installs from your drawings and specifications with few surprises.

• Firm leadership trusts you to take a project and run with it and knows it will be done well.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.

• 4–7 years of professional interior design experience, ideally on custom, high-end residential projects. Experience in commercial or hospitality projects is a plus.

• NCIDQ certification, or actively working toward it.

• Proficiency in Revit (required); proficiency in visualization tools and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

• Experience working through all phases of design, from schematic design to construction documents and through installation.

• Strong knowledge of finishes, materials, FF&E, lighting, and millwork, along with relevant building codes and accessibility requirements.

• A portfolio that demonstrates original, inventive design work alongside resolved technical documentation.

• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
