Position: M-F 8:30-5:00, 40 Hours (in-person at our Holyoke, MA location)
Expressive Design Group is a privately owned company that manufactures and distributes all-occasion and seasonal gift-wrapping paper products to a wide variety of local, national, and international retailers.
We are looking for an outgoing and assertive self-starter to join our Holyoke team as a Warehouse Manager and Inventory Control Specialist. The ideal candidate must have experience working in a similar environment with the ability to learn new processes quickly and oversee day-to-day tasks at a highly detailed level while meeting shipment deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
The ideal candidate will serve in this overlapping dual role, focusing on key areas described which include managing, supervising, and directing warehouse staff:
- Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities
- Recruit, train, and motivate permanent and temporary warehousing staff
- Manage warehouse personnel concerns (i.e. PTO, Employee Performance Reviews etc.)
- Provide a safe, hygienic, and streamlined work environment for warehousing staff
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling/shipping legal, and regulatory requirements as mandated by CTPAT
- Liaise with internal staff in other departments and external supply chain and 3rd-party transport associates
- Maintain supply stock for warehouse supplies (i.e. stretch wrap, quality pallets, cleaning supplies)
- Coordinate building security and maintenance (i.e. staffing agencies, fork-lift repair services, propane services etc.)
- Respond to and act during emergency events, overseeing the safety of the warehousing staff following EDG emergency protocols
Off-Peak (Approximately November through June)
- Oversee efficient receiving and handling/storage of incoming inventory with accurate receiving counts
- Coordinate with Traffic Manager to prepare and stage customer shipments
- Develop and maintain strategies for efficient space utilization of inventory and backstock
- Perform and maintain physical inventory counts / records within company ERP system (Sage 100)
- Facilitate oversight of special projects groups with Traffic Manager
Peak (Approximately July through October)
- Prioritize and coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with Traffic Manager
- Develop and maintain picking lines, stacking plans, and truck loads for efficient order execution
- Personally pick and efficiently stage lead-orders for top priority customers, ensuring timely delivery
- Delegate and train warehousing staff on small to medium order picking and staging
- Delegate and train warehousing staff on truck and container load receiving and storing
- Study and implement customer shipping requirements such as palletizing, stacking, labeling
- Overtime will be available and may be required during peak season
- Additional temporary staff is hired during this time period which require supervision and training
