Key Responsibilities
- Learn and apply knowledge of assigned Plans of benefits, and assist across other workstations as needed
- Maintain and update records for processing retirement benefits
- Compute, research, and evaluate requests for vesting, retirement, death, and vacation benefits
- Conduct personal interviews with plan participants, beneficiaries, or representatives via phone, email, or in person
- Coordinate with internal departments, union representatives, trustees, and other stakeholders
- Learn and apply codes in the Pension database
- Perform routine and semi-routine office duties including correspondence, record-keeping, and suspense cutoff processing
- Multitask across various responsibilities while adhering to deadlines
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- High school diploma or G.E.D
- 3 years general office experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, calm and professional demeanor
- Accurate and timely review and editing of documents
- Comfortable using computer and phone systems to perform duties
- 1 year office experience in a TPA or pension environment
- 2 years of college experience in a related field (associate’s degree not required)
- Regular use of written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data and documents
- Handle highly detailed work on multiple tasks concurrently
- Adaptable to frequent interruptions and work under intensive deadlines
