Overview
The Technical Engineer supports lab operations focused on power supply and system-level testing, working closely with engineering teams to execute, document, and improve testing processes. This role operates with minimal supervision and plays a key part in maintaining organized lab workflows, executing testing activities, and ensuring accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain lab organization, including tracking testing volume, maintaining reporting metrics, and supporting regular updates for leadership
- Perform hands-on power supply testing, including receiving, labeling, photographing, testing units, and generating detailed reports
- Review and interpret technical specifications, providing feedback and making technical and editorial updates as needed
- Update and maintain test procedures and scripts based on evolving specifications and requirements
- Support additional lab testing activities, including thermal cycle testing and backup support for shock and vibration testing of network cards
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure testing aligns with current requirements and standards
- Accurately document test setups, results, and observations
- 5 years of relevant experience in lab testing, validation, or engineering (mechanical engineering background preferred)
- Strong understanding of testing processes and ability to interpret technical specifications
- Hands-on experience in hardware testing environments (computer systems or components preferred)
- Familiarity with scripting or programming concepts is helpful
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Able to recall past work, apply learnings, and adapt to new situations
- Confident and able to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Flexible and open to evolving processes and requirements
- Self-sufficient with the ability to work independently while collaborating with a broader team
