Lead Data Engineer

Our client, a leading global provider of technology, engineering, and consulting services, is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join their team. As a Lead Data Engineer , you will be part of the Data Transformation Department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Lead Data Engineer (FTE)

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Pay Range: $135,000 - $175,000

What's the Job?

• Oversee the end-to-end migration of Teradata workloads to Azure/Databricks, ensuring seamless transition across multiple business domains such as gaming, loyalty, and resort operations.
• Coordinate delivery teams, stakeholders, and technology partners to modernize the data ecosystem supporting guest personalization, revenue optimization, and enterprise analytics.
• Establish and maintain disciplined delivery governance aligned with client’s PMO, including risk management, status reporting, and operational readiness.
• Guide technical teams in migration planning, execution, and alignment to target-state Azure data architecture, including Data Lake Storage and secure data-sharing patterns.
• Drive data profiling, validation, and KPI alignment to ensure data quality and support business confidence in analytics outputs.
  
  
  

What's Needed?

• Proven experience leading large-scale Teradata modernization, migration, or decommissioning programs in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure Data Lake Storage, and experience with Azure Databricks and Spark-based engineering.
• Excellent SQL skills with the ability to guide teams through data profiling, transformation, and reconciliation processes.
• Experience managing multi-workstream delivery programs with onshore and offshore teams, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex technical topics into clear, business-friendly language for senior leadership.
