DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES-CAR WASH
ROLE
The Director of Facilities & Maintenance oversees the strategic and operational maintenance of 50 car wash locations across six states. This role is responsible for leading a team of regional Facilities Maintenance Managers, who in turn manage
site-level Maintenance Technicians. The Director ensures that all locations operate safely, efficiently, and consistently by implementing preventative maintenance programs, managing capital projects, overseeing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. This leader collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, and Safety to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support store performance. A strong focus on team development, budget management, and multi-site maintenance strategy is key to success in this role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead and develop Facilities Maintenance Managers and oversee Maintenance Technicians across all districts.
• Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Collaborate with Operations to align maintenance priorities with business performance goals.
• Oversee large-scale repairs, renovations, and capital projects with a focus on quality and budget control.
• Manage the facilities maintenance budget, including forecasting for repairs, parts, and capital needs.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships to ensure timely service and adherence to SLAs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local safety standards at all locations.
• Standardize maintenance processes, analyze performance data, and support new store openings and inspections.
Qualifications
• 7 years of progressive experience in facilities or equipment maintenance, including multi-site management; car wash, retail, convenience store, or QSR industry experience preferred.
• 5 years of leadership experience managing managers and remote/field-based teams.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; car wash equipment experience a strong plus.
• Demonstrated success in implementing preventative maintenance programs and managing capital projects.
• Proficient with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Excel; experience with systems like MaintainX or ServiceChannel preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to travel frequently across the company’s footprint.

• Hands-on mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting ability
• Vendor negotiation and contract management experience
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data for decision-making
• Experience in a high-growth or private-equity backed environment is a plus
