Key Responsibilities
- Assist the DON and ADON in developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing department policies and procedures.
- Ensure all nursing personnel perform in accordance with their job descriptions and facility guidelines.
- Participate in surveys and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on residents’ discharge planning and regularly update care plans.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels for each shift to ensure consistent, quality care.
- Conduct daily rounds to assess resident needs and monitor staff performance; report findings to the DON.
- Address, document, and escalate staff concerns or grievances as needed.
- Welcome and orient new residents, ensuring a smooth transition upon admission.
- Accompany physicians during rounds and coordinate nursing support as required.
- Oversee medication administration and treatment schedules for accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide direct nursing care when necessary.
- Contribute to resident assessments and participate in care plan development.
- Assist with performance evaluations of LPNs and CNAs.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
