Azure Shores Rehabilitation is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Concierge to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for residents, families, and staff—ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from admission through discharge.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Admissions Department and nursing staff to prepare for incoming residents, ensuring all necessary equipment is ready (bed, mattress, oxygen, etc.)
- Prepare resident rooms prior to admission:
- Confirm belongings from previous residents have been removed
- Ensure terminal cleaning is completed
- Verify bed setup, lighting, call bell, and TV functionality
- Assemble welcome baskets for new residents (when applicable)
- Greet and escort new residents from the lobby to their rooms
- Provide emotional support and engage with residents and their families
- Respond to call bells and assist residents or communicate needs to appropriate staff
- Handle and escalate resident concerns through the grievance process
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, and team members
- Attend in-service trainings, staff meetings, and Resident Council meetings
- Provide facility tours when admissions staff are unavailable
- Assist with room changes (Short-Term Rehab to Long-Term Care transitions)
- Complete concierge follow-up forms within 48 hours of admission and prior to discharge
- Send daily progress reports to administrative staff
- Coordinate with laundry services for resident belongings upon readmission
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to make independent decisions and problem-solve effectively
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Comfortable working with elderly populations
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Windows, Excel)
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Prior nursing home or healthcare experience
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
- Outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills
