JOB SUMMARY: Excelerate Energy is currently looking for a Senior Accountant, Tax to help support our company’s growth and transition to performing more tax functions in-house. The overall objective of this role is to support the quarterly tax provision process and the periodic tax compliance process of Excelerate Energy’s US headquarters and its multinational operational presence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following activities:
Tax Provision
- Prepare schedules for quarterly and annual tax provision calculations for purposes of SEC filings, including tax basis balance sheets, tax payable proofs, and return to provision adjustments, among others.
- Coordinate with foreign controllers to calculate foreign tax provisions
- Utilize SAP to gather accounting data for input into OneSource Tax Provision software
- Perform SOX controls and maintain documentation
- Support Sr. Manager, Tax as needed in tax provision process
Tax Compliance
- Prepare federal tax returns in OneSource Income Tax, including forms 1065, 1120, 8858, 5471, 1118, 1042, FinCIN 114
- Prepare quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Calculate and prepare quarterly transfer pricing entries.
- Maintain fixed assets in Sage Fixed Asset software (FAS).
- Maintain tax compliance calendars for domestic and international filings.
- Preparation of ad hoc tax forms as needed.
- Support Sr. Manager, Tax as needed in tax compliance process.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of tax and accounting principles.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA eligible.
- 3 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in Big 4 or in-house publicly traded corporate tax roles.
