Safety Technician - Maintenance

Overview:

Responsible for implementing and maintaining safety programs to ensure a secure working environment for all employees. The Safety Technician will play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating potential hazards, promoting safety awareness, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Qualification Standards:

• BCSP CSP certification preferred, and/or NCCER CSST.
• Proven experience as an Industrial Safety Technician or a similar role.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct effective training sessions.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Certification in safety-related disciplines is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Safety Inspections:
  • Conduct regular inspections of industrial facilities to identify and assess potential safety hazards.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to address and rectify safety issues promptly.
• Risk Assessment:
  • Perform comprehensive risk assessments to determine potential dangers and recommend appropriate preventive measures.
  • Analyze incident reports to identify trends and develop strategies to reduce the risk of accidents.
• Safety Training:
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, emphasizing best practices and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with department managers to tailor training sessions to specific job roles and responsibilities.
• Emergency Response Planning:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
  • Conduct drills and simulations to ensure employees are well-prepared for emergencies.
• Compliance Monitoring:
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure that the company is in compliance with all applicable safety laws and regulations.
• Incident Investigation:
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses.
  • Analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Safety Communication:
  • Foster a culture of safety by promoting open communication and reporting of safety concerns.
  • Prepare and distribute safety communications to keep employees informed about potential risks and best practices.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Management:
  • Oversee the selection, distribution, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure that employees are trained on the correct use and maintenance of PPE.
