Quality Control Inspector (2nd Shift)
Location: Westminster, CO (Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time (2nd Shift)
Compensation: $34.39 – $40.64 per hour
About the Role
An innovative aerospace technology organization developing advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and airborne platforms is seeking a Quality Control Inspector (2nd Shift) to support its growing production team.
This is a highly hands-on role within a fast-paced, collaborative environment where quality, precision, and accountability are critical. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure that all electronic and electromechanical components meet strict internal and customer requirements.
This position is particularly focused on EEE components and PCB/PCBA inspection, with a strong emphasis on receiving inspection and supporting mission-critical hardware programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute quality control processes across incoming materials, in-process manufacturing, and final inspection activities
- Perform detailed inspection of PCB/PCBA assemblies, EEE components, and cable assemblies
- Conduct receiving inspection, including 100% sampling of boards and documentation review
- Perform dimensional inspection using calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, and Vision Measuring Machines (VMM)
- Conduct microscopic visual inspection in accordance with IPC standards
- Document inspection activities using ERP/PLM systems, electronic logs, and labeling processes
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of inspection methods, plans, and quality procedures
- Support resolution of internal and external nonconformances using root cause analysis and 8D methodologies
- Assist with data analysis, reporting, and quality metrics tracking
- Support audit activities and corrective action responses
- Assist with Material Review Board (MRB) activities and non-conforming material disposition
- Support measurement verification activities (including CMM, where applicable) and First Article Inspections (FAI)
- Manage day-to-day inspection priorities to ensure timely and accurate turnaround
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant inspection experience, including at least 2 years focused on PCB/PCBA inspection
- Strong experience with IPC standards, including:
- IPC-A-610
- IPC-600 (bare boards)
- J-STD-001
- IPC-7711 / 7721 (rework/repair)
- Experience working within AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
- Experience performing microscopic visual inspection
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD documentation, and detailed work instructions
- Experience with ERP and PLM systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Active IPC certifications (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, etc.)
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing
- Experience with CMM equipment and measurement verification
- Experience supporting First Article Inspection (FAI) activities
- Familiarity with cleanroom environments
- FAA or regulated industry experience
