Senior Quality Engineer

Salary Range: $97,000 – $126,000 USD
About the Role
An innovative aerospace technology organization developing high-reliability communication systems for space and airborne platforms is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing operations.
This role is ideal for a hands-on quality leader who combines Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies to deliver measurable operational impact. You will work cross-functionally to enhance processes, improve product quality, and support compliance within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement root cause countermeasures to enhance product quality and operational performance
- Lead Kaizen events and cross-functional process improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing teams
- Develop and execute Value Stream Mapping (VSM) roadmaps aligned with organizational goals
- Champion Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive efficiency and eliminate waste
- Mentor and develop internal team members in Lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices
- Conduct machine capability studies (CmK) and measurement system analyses (GR&R)
- Support AS9100 and ISO9001 audits, ensuring compliance with quality management system (QMS) requirements
- Develop, track, and report performance metrics to support data-driven decision-making and operational excellence
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or related field preferred)
- 5 years of experience in quality engineering or continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment
- Experience working within AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
- Proven experience leading Kaizen events and driving waste reduction initiatives
- Strong background in Root Cause Analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace or high-reliability electronics manufacturing environments
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Experience supporting or leading AS9100 / ISO audits
